Joey Bada$$ recently did an interview with Red Bull Music Academy Radio talking about the growth of New York rap from his perspective. In addition he spoke to about how the era he was born into has influenced his music in todays era. J Dilla was mentioned as a key figure in terms of finding the correct production for his style as his sampling was very attractive for Joey. Finally he spoke about the making of his mixtape 1999 and rap crews and how they have had an impact on the rap scene.
